Memphis Hi-Lites | Old Dominick Distillery

Source: Events – Old Dominick Distillery

Gus’ Fried Chicken is one of my favorite spots in Memphis to throw down. There are a number of locations throughout the city, but the first location I visited was on Front St. in Downtown Memphis. A couple of days ago I was driving Lyft and dropping off some visitors and I convinced them to go to Gus’ over Rendezvous (I think I chose right). Across from Gus’ I noticed a newly renovated building. I jumped out of the car and walked over to the door. It was locked.

The building however was beautiful. The facade consisted of browns and reds, steel beams and it felt like an old speakeasy. I realized it was a distillery. after a few minutes. I can’t explain why it took so long for me to realize what it was, but once I did I thought that the person who opened that location was lucky, but couldn’t have been smart since the doors of the place were locked during prime business hours and there was a line down the block for Gus’.

Today I got an e-mail and I visited the website. I get it now and I think that it is definitely a place that will begin to rank very high on the list of places to visit in the city. Use the source link to look around. There is an upcoming event featuring one of my favorite chefs.
