I typically spend an hour a night lounging at the computer to wind down. During this time I have moments of inspiration where I write about what I want to do, or discover something that is so elegant and beautiful that it forces me to take a beat to consider how it’s working. I see something that makes me wonder. When it is something that I can directly relate to, I want to share it. Up until I redesigned the CBP site, I would post these things on my ARCH page (if it was shoes), or I would just like it on Facebook or heart it on Tumblr and move on. I’ve created a new category for the site named ‘Fashion’ that you will be able to search and find information on footwear, apparel and accessories, I think are worth your time. Today’s discovery was Quoddy.
America has done a poor job of maintaining its industries. Hardly anything we wear is made here in the U.S. The quality of items, including my own shoe brand, suffers because the attention to minute details seems to be lost. Quoddy is a company of old shoe dogs who are maintaining the industry of crafting quality footwear in a small town in Maine. I guess I could continue talking, but this video shot by Oliver Wilkins says it all. Get To Know: Quoddy.
